ava-macpherson:

Ava turned her gaze back to Steve as he cleared his throat and began, what she guessed was what he wanted to say all along. She listened intently, nodding, “It is a long time.” She agreed before letting him continue. He seemed so unsure of himself, that was easy to pick up. May or may not. Ava furrowed her brows at the indecision in his sentence. “May or may not…” She repeated as he gave up. She had an idea of what he was trying to say, it really wasn’t fucking rocket science. “Alright,” She sighed, propping herself up and facing him completely. She was going to make this easy for the both of them. Steve was a sweet guy and Ava without a doubt did like him. She leaned in, placing a hand to his cheek and kissed him once, then again before pulling back. “How did that make you feel?” She asked, almost like she already knew the answer.

She smiled at him, almost as if to let him know that whatever he’d say, it was okay with her. “Take those feelings and then think about everything else we’ve done and there you have it.” She explained. It was easier said than done, sure, but she didn’t want any if’s, and’s, or but’s from Steve. Just a solid yes or no. “So, the real question here is whether you do or do not have feelings for me.” She pressed her lips together and blinked repeatedly. A silence fell over them as Ava awaited his answer. Should it be bad, she’d still like to remain friends with him because really, she did have a great time just hanging out with the boy. And should it be good, well, they’d see where it lead.

Steve sighed. He knew he’d said something wrong. May or may not. He listened to Ava, kissing her back quickly when she kissed him. He cleared his throat again and smile. “It felt very good. Made me feel… like I’m… on a cloud…?” He shook his head. He was so dumb now. “Yeah, that feeling… like, I feel really light and happy, and it’s that true happiness—not that shit that you tell your parents when you just want them off your back.” He bit his lip and shrugged. “I’m positive that’s how I feel.”

So Steve thought about everything—him and Ava meeting, then going to the kitchen for a drink, having pretty much a heart-to-heart, and making his promise to protect her sister and help her protect Anya, too, and then getting drunk, and then her falling and him catching her, and then him picking her up and going to the living room, and then they danced and then they kissed and now they were here. All of that was such a jumble of greatness, and he smiled at Ava. “The real question…” He repeated. Of course, another thought occurred to him. They’d just met, and he really liked Ava. That brought his mood down a bit. “I like you, Ava.” He said surely. “I do. A lot.” He sighed again, more out of frustration. “But we just met. I’m sorry for kissing you so soon. I do like you already, though.” Now he kind of wished he wasn’t raised the way he was. “Maybe we should wait until we get to know each other, though.” He told her carefully. “Possibly.” He pressed his lips together, feeling already as if he’d said something bad.

Ava smiled. She didn’t know she was able to have that sort of affect on someone. On a cloud? Well, it was good enough to her and she definitely found it pleasing to the ear. “Good.” She nodded with a smile and relaxed again, getting comfortable like she had done before. Then Steve went on to speak and again, Ava listened carefully. She perked her head up at, “But we just met.” And she suddenly knew where this was going. She let him finish before giggling softly, smiling at him. “Relax, you,” She began with a playful nudge of his arm, “Nothing has to happen right off the bat or anything. That was just to help get your feelings in order, and now that you have, I can tell you that I like you, too, but you’re right. We did just meet and jumping into anything would just be fucking stupid.” Ava spoke honestly, no regrets in her words. She didn’t like how tense the air suddenly got, they were having a much better time when they were poking fun at one another.

Ava herself hadn’t been a relationship person for quite some time, in fact, the thought of it scared her. She didn’t know why but it did. She liked that she and Steve could remain friends for now, everyone needed friends didn’t they? “So, friend,” Ava smiled wider, “How do you feel about the house itself?” She asked, changing the subject to lighten the mood once again.

Steve & Ava ● Hello, Stranger.

steve—robinson:

ava-macpherson:

Ava smiled against Steve’s lips as he pulled back, her eyes meeting his again. “A goddess?” She repeated with a raise of her brows. Not a bad compliment, not bad at all as a matter of fact. “I’ll take it.” She grinned, and followed along to the couch where the two sat again. Ava adjusted her legs beneath her comfortably, curling up and leaning against the back. “You are.” She agreed, confirming her words. “You’re also a good dancer.” It was easy to talk to Steve and even play around with him the way they had been doing all night. The compliments, the dancing… It was all so… Nice. There was no other way to put it.

“I had fun, too.” Ava said and licked her lips as she watched him try to form the right words for whatever it was he wanted to say. She was curious now, there was no denying that. “And…?” She repeated before Steve spoke again causing Ava to chuckle. “You’ve got the rest of eternity, take your time.” It was a weak joke, if a joke is even what it was, but it was true. He had forever to tell her whatever it was he was going over in his head, literally. Ava let out a content sight as she tilted her head back, looking upward at the ceiling and admiring the swirls and patters on it. She never really noticed it before, then again, who would? It was just a ceiling.

“Yes, a goddess. First word that popped into my head.” Steve said as he kept thinking of how he would form the words. At least he had gotten that sentence out fine. He smirked softly and smiled, looking up at her. “All eternity? Ha-ha, funny. You’re hilarious. Seriously, though…” He sighed, looking at Ava, feeling as if this thinking was taking so much energy out of him. Maybe if he just said it all slowly and all… he looked up at the ceiling with her and nodded. “Swirls…” He whispered. Like his mind. Steve’s mind was definitely in a swirl—or a few different swirls all mushed together in a confusing swirl.

“Alright,” he said. He’d just tell her slowly and then it’d all come out fine. That’s at least what Steve was thinking. It sounded pretty logical to him anyways. He looked back down at Ava and cleared his throat again. “Tonight… has been really fun, Ava. Like I said… you’ve made me feel more than I’ve felt in over a decade… and, and that’s a long time.” He sighed and thought a bit more, smiling at just because it was Ava. “And… I think I may… or may not… have… uh… developed a sort of emotion towards your personality…?” It came out like a question, and as he processed what he said, he groaned again. “I give up, that was absolute shit.”

Ava turned her gaze back to Steve as he cleared his throat and began, what she guessed was what he wanted to say all along. She listened intently, nodding, “It is a long time.” She agreed before letting him continue.
ava-macpherson:

“Oh yeah, you could be the next Russell Peters,” She chuckled with a raise of her brows. Ava was only half kidding. Steve was funny but in a cute way, unlike Russell Peters who was funny in the vile ways, which Ava quite enjoyed. Nonetheless, it wasn’t Russell Peters’ company Ava was enjoying, it was Steve’s and that’s just the way she liked it. The kazoo? What the fuck was that? Ava had never heard of anything by that name before. She cocked her head back at the word, “Kazoo?” She repeated questionably. It was clear in her voice she had no idea what that was—In fact if she had to guess, she’d probably say it was a fucking comic, kid’s board-game or some shit. She felt Steve pull her in a little, Ava folding her lips together and biting down to stop yet another smile that was trying to fight its way to her lips. “Me too!” She beamed more than she meant to. Everyone she had met was always a little older or a little younger than she was so it was nice to meet someone the same age and it was just a bonus that that someone was Steve.

“Thank you, you have a lovely height.” She complimented with honesty, even though it may have sounded silly. Ava liked it when guys were taller than her. Not by a whole lot but taller, still. She smirked at his words, feeling quite satisfied and confident that she’d win the game now. Before she could speak, Steve was grazing her skin softly and butterflies soared throughout Ava’s stomach. Butterflies? Really? How fucking cliche. She scowled to herself silently. Ava swallowed hard as his lips touched hers, pressing lightly. Her eyes fluttered shut as she let her lips brush back against his. The kiss only lasted seconds before Ava pulled back, “You’re also a good kisser.” She grinned, placing a hand on the back of his neck and pulling him back in as their lips met again.

Steve thought for just a second that Ava didn’t like it—that she was furious with him for kissing her—but she complimented him, and was kissing her again. He held the back of her head with one hand, playing a little with her hair—honestly, it was also soft—and he moved his lips along with hers slowly. He wasn’t one to go crazy when it came to kissing or hurry up with it. His dad raised him to really be a gentleman with women. Steve kissed Ava slow, feeling almost as if her lips fitted his perfectly—as dumb as that sounded—but he was happy. He purposely pressed his nose softly against hers and pulled away a bit. “Well,” he said to her, opening his eyes. “You kiss like… a goddess.” Fucking ridiculous, but he had to one-up her. And Ava was a good kisser, as a matter of fact.

“Get down from my feet, woman,” he said to her with a smile, and helped her down, taking her back to the couch and sitting down next to her. “So. I’m a good kisser, though?” He asked. “I just… oh my god,” he shook his head at himself, not really able to get any words out, not able to collect his thoughts clearly. He cleared his throat and sighed. “I had fun.” He said. “The dancing… and…” Steve groaned. He literally could not get what he wanted to say out of his mouth. He pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head. “Wait, give me a minute.” He smirked at himself. Now she must think he was stupid. Great.

I know what you mean. That’s not very likely though, they’ll probably find some way to kill themselves whether it’s by a ghost or falling down the stairs and breaking their neck. People are fucking idiots, that’s just plain to see. I’m Ava.

I broke my neck.. Fell off the roof a few years back. I’m gonna try my hardest to make sure no idiot follows in my footsteps, you know, gonna keep them off of the roof. Ava.. why isn’t I haven’t seen you around before?

Nicely done. At least you weren’t killed by a fucking demon baby or whatever Thaddeus is. Bad timing? You can almost always find me in the kitchen, it’s my favorite room of the house. But I can’t blame you for going on the roof, now that I have nothing to lose, I tend to go up there too.

So, I heard the turned that one place into an orphanage..

derekgreenwood:

ava-macpherson:

That “one place” is called Murder House. And it’s no place for a fucking orphanage.

Murder House.. Yeah that’s it.

I hear it’s no place for anyone.

Then you’ve heard correctly. Why anyone would open up an orphanage here of all places is fucking beyond me. It’s one of the most stupid things that has ever been been done to this place, but then again, stupidity never stopped anyone. Oh, and hi, I’m Ava.

How’s that going for them?

ava-macpherson:

Ava grinned, “I try.” Her voice was light as she shrugged, their bodies continuing to move. If only every night could be tonight, Ava wouldn’t mind being stuck here for eternity. Not when she had someone like Steve she could so easily be around. “Ha-Ha, very funny,” She crinkled her nose playfully with sarcasm. Steve was kind which was more than Ava could say about anyone else in the house—including herself. Perhaps she could learn a thing or two from him. Like she had told him earlier, she agreed with his reasons for being nice but somehow she couldn’t let down her guard with everyone like she did him. It didn’t have anything to do with the alcohol either, she had been drinking plenty of times before.

“May have heard it once or twice,” She teased, looking up into the right corner of the ceiling as if she was seeking out a memory. Her eyes returned to him quickly. His skin was soft and she somehow found it hard to look straight into his eyes without smiling to herself so for a small while, she let her blue orbs fall to their feet that moved in slow circles, Steve doing all the work, of course. “How old are you?” Ava asked curiously, trying to hide her smile. This was weird. She hadn’t smiled so much since the house had claimed her life. Ava honestly wasn’t sure if she liked it or not, mindless sex had become her thing, she had dropped feelings a long time ago for the sake of never being weak. So why did she feel like this now? Having no answers, well, that scared her.

Steve chuckled softly and shrugged. “I’m hilarious, aren’t I?” He asked jokingly. “Should’ve been a comedian. Or a chef. Or a kazoo player.” The kazoo—probably the only isntrument he could play anyway… even if it wasn’t really an instrument. Steve grinned down at her, holding Ava just a bit closer. He just wanted to hold her. That’s all. He sighed softly and pretended to think very long and hard about her question. “Seventeen… forever…again… like the movie with the twins and their little brother.” He smiled. That was a good movie. Man he was old—in other senses.

“You have such a lovely smile.” He told her, noticing how she was smiling a lot. Steve sighed. “Okay, I think I’m losing this game if I’m repeating compliments.” He rolled his eyes at himself—or, he at least thought he’d already complimented her smile. Her lips, her hair, her eyes… her skin. Steve lifted his hand up to graze his fingers softly along her cheek. Soft. His brown eyes looked up into her blue ones and he cleared his throat. The feeling inside of him was literally rising so high. Steve was literally going crazy—he just wanted to know how it’d feel like is all. He leaned into Ava, pressing his lips against hers softly—honestly as if she’d break. He was afraid of that, but obviously she wouldn’t. Just like he’d imagined them—soft, and they were Ava’s.

The kiss only lasted seconds before Ava pulled back, “You’re also a good kisser.” She grinned, placing a hand on the back of his neck and pulling him back in as their lips met again.

eternallyisabella:

ava-macpherson:

“Hey, I could do a lot of damage,” Ava teased, “I’m more dangerous than I look, it’s my deadly weapon.” Was this really coming out of her mouth? Why was she feeling so… So… So what? There wasn’t a single word that could describe how she felt. It was like a medley of playful, restless, anxious and even a little fucking giddy. This was something she wasn’t used to and honestly, Ava didn’t know what was coming over her or if she liked it or not. Ava felt Steve’s arms close in on her, not minding in the slightest. She felt safe and secure. In fact, Ava took it upon herself to snuggle into his chest. Again, a weird thing for her. She leaned into him, her cheek resting against him. He was warm and sturdy. The two continued to slowly move about, a content smile on her face as her eyes closed.

“Really?” She questioned as if she’d heard him wrong. Truth be told, Ava hoped she had heard him correctly because in her opinion, that was the biggest compliment she had ever received. She really had no idea she was even capable of making someone feel anything close to what Steve had said. Shaking her thoughts of flattery, Ava was pleased to hear that from him. “You too,” She curled her lips together against his chest, pulling her head away for a moment to get a good view of his face. Her blue eyes lingered on his features for a moment and she suddenly got the urge to do something she knew how to do all too well, something that could be easily done—but no, she refrained. “I think you’re the only person I’ve met in this house that I… Like. I mean really like. Most people I just tolerate, but you…” She let her words trail off, figuring he could find the right end to the sentence that he wanted without her having to guess.

Steve laughed at her softly. “‘I can do a lot of damage’,” he repeated, shaking his head before resting his chin up on Ava’s head. “You’re funny.” Although, of course, she was probably telling the truth. He just hoped she wouldn’t damage him. He smiled as he felt Ava’s head on his chest. That meant she was comfortable with him, which was a good thing, right? Honestly, tonight was just a fucking great night. God, the happiness he just felt—he couldn’t explain it anymore to himself. Steve just took note of how he was feeling every three seconds and it kept surprising him each time. He’d missed this feeling so much. A small chuckle escaped his lips. “‘You too,’. You’re too funny. You’ve been feeling hollow for 12 years, too?” He asked jokingly, but Steve knew she meant kindly about it.

Lowering his head back down to look at Ava, he took her all in once again. He gulped silently with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. She was lovely. There was nothing more to it. He looked into her rather beautiful blue eyes and his smile grew a bit. Steve pressed his forehead against hers softly. “I did tell you that you were… lovely, right?” He asked softly. His father had always said, Don’t be an ass. You don’t kiss her after knowing her for two seconds. And Steve agreed with it, and he did like just being friends with Ava so far, but of course, there was actually a small urge trying to burst from him—like a stupid firework. Pretty lame. “Because you are.”

Steve & Ava ● Hello, Stranger.

steve—robinson:

Ava crinkled her nose, scrunching her brows playfully at his words that counteracted her own. “If you want to get technical…” She teased with a roll of her eyes, then setting them back on him. She was enjoying the pace of the slow dance without a doubt but that changed quickly when Steve began to play with their arms and sure enough, his legs. Ava couldn’t hold back a laugh that rose from her lungs and broke from her lips. She tilted her head downward, a quark of her brows as she moved her arms with his; one back and the other forward. Lifting one of Steve’s arms, Ava spun herself under, her body travelling away from his for a moment as their hands stayed linked but their arms extended. She was having a great time, even with something so small as dancing. It was a big deal for Ava considering the unfortunate turn of events she had experiences lately.

Ava appreciated Steve’s reasoning, it made absolute sense and to be quite honest, she had the same mind set around that. Ava was never one to be cruel without a good reason, and she really wasn’t. The difference between her and most people was that she was simply picky about the people she decided to talk to and befriend. Slowly, that was changing. Ever since she had arrived in the Murder House, Ava had made sure to let down her walls a bit. She was more outgoing than she normally would have been and while usually only talking to people with a reason in mind, the reasoning for being friendly to the fellow ghosts was simple and never changed. If she was going to be spending eternity with them, why cause any more problems then necessary? It wasn’t that she was stuck up, she was just an introverted person and had her guard up twenty-four seven. She chose the people she talked to wisely, or used to anyway. Ava couldn’t help but smile widely as Steve picked her up, she laughed aloud, clutching his shoulders tightly for a moment and then releasing him from her grip. Her arms spread out like a bird, feeling free and carefree before Steve brought her back down to Earth. “Wow!” She mused, what a rush! She felt Steve secure his hand on her petite waist once again, she felt safe with him. Like he wouldn’t be one to screw her over—then again, she had felt that way with her last group of friends. Ava didn’t know what to think, getting lost in her head for a minute when Steve’s voice snapped her back to reality, “Are you sure? I might hurt you.” She warned.

Steve looked Ava up and down with a raise of his eyebrow. “Have you seen yourself? You won’t hurt me.” He promised with a friendly smile. He helped her feet up onto his and he swayed a bit, only occasionally moving his legs left or right since Ava was now standing on his feet. “See? Everything worked out so much better than expected.” He danced for a while, just looking into Ava’s glowing face—well, he thought it glowed. Maybe that was just from the light coming from the lamp in the room, but—no. It glowed. Steve was just so happy—very, very happy. His face softened when the realization of it hit him—like a train. He smiled crookedly at Ava, hugging her to him in, well, thanks.

“You know,” He said as he kept dancing—or just swaying. Steve pressed his cheek to her head carefully and smiled a bit wider. “You made me feel more than I’ve felt in twelve years.” Maybe that was the most truest thing ever. Just in their small hangout, he actually kind of… forgot that he was dead. He felt so normal and kind of alive for once. It was an amazing feeling. Steve hoped that they could do it again, too, for all reasons out there. They were friends—or, at least, he thought they were. He hoped they were. Or whatever this feeling was. He didn’t know, but it was just so nice. “Thanks, Ava. A lot.” He told her truthfully. Honestly, he didn’t want to stop. It’d be great to stay like that forever. There was literally not a worried thought in his head for once. Steve felt pretty peaceful, which was a big deal for him.

“Hey, I could do a lot of damage,” Ava teased, “I’m more dangerous than I look, it’s my deadly weapon.” Was this really coming out of her mouth? Why was she feeling so… So… So what? There wasn’t a single word that could describe how she felt. It was like a medley of playful, restless, anxious and even a little fucking giddy.
ava-macpherson:

Ava placed a hand on Steve’s shoulder, letting him hold the other in his with a content smile across her lips. “Who needs music?” She replied, her eyes catching his with every intent of holding his gaze. “Unless you’d like to sing for me, in which case, be my guest! That’s just another thing to compliment you on.” She teased, her smile fading into more of a smirk. The two moved in sync in silence for a moment, the taste of vodka still lingering on Ava’s lips, not that she was complaining.

“Good point,” She agreed with a nod, biting the corner of her lip for a moment as she contemplated the thought. “Slow dancing is fine by me, besides, you seem like you’ve already got it down.” She squeezed his shoulder gently before loosening her grip and following his lead. Dancing like this was somehow relaxing. They moved in small circles, repeating it one time, then another and so on. A thousand questions ran through Ava’s mind but she chose only one to ask, the least interesting of them all, “Why are you so nice?” She asked, not that he needed a particular reason but the only time any guy had been truly nice to her was when they wanted something so she figured it couldn’t hurt to try and get an answer out of him. Steve was strange, not in a bad way though. He was just different than the people Ava was used to which was a pleasant change. Ava could feel herself nearly tripping over her own feet, stopping the movement for a minute to gain her balance back and then moving along with Steve again. Somehow she felt an odd sort of comfort from him, one she wasn’t used to and she wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or a bad. Ava didn’t trust people easily, especially after her friends, the people she had trusted the most, left her for dead.

Steve laughed a little at the thought—and frankly, kind of embarrassing—of singing. He shook his head. “Nah, nah, I’ll save you the blood that would literally start pouring out of your ears if I did.” Then he thought quickly. “Actually… that wouldn’t be a true compliment. You’d never compliment me on singing if you heard me sing… so you’re never going to hear me sing anyways… so that compliment doesn’t even count.” He smirked, sounding a bit childish, but it was fun to goof a bit about the little things. Steve got an idea—to goof off some more—and took Ava’s other hand so he was holding them both, and he started pulling one and pushing the other, slowly, normally, until he made the movements big and exaggerated—to be funny. He even would bend his legs in a funny way, twisting them a bit. Why not just have fun, right?

He started laughing at himself. Steve loved being really dorky. That was him, and he was just like that, too. “Oh,” he stated, thinking about the answer to her question. He sighed. “Well, my dad was a gentleman. He taught me how to be one. And… I’m just like that. I see no reason to be… mean or unpleasant to someone if I haven’t gotten to know them. You should treat everyone kindly whether they’re good to you or not.” He’d always believed that. Even when someone was honestly being annoying or rude in the worst of ways, Steve would always answer calmly and he never really raises his voice unless he’s telling someone to run for their life. Steve chuckled a bit as he noticed that Ava was a bit off on her feet. “Ready?” Steve said, raising his eyebrows. He didn’t wait for Ava answer as he picked her up again and twirled her around. “Da da da,” he sang, laughing and putting her down again. “Hope you’re not too dizzy.” Steve took her hand again and placed his other on her waist once more, smiling with a genuine happiness. He swayed a bit as he thought of something else. “You could stand on my feet… so you don’t trip.”

[Don’t laugh if this doesn’t work haha.]

When Ethan removed Ava’s shirt, she couldn’t help but feel more excited. Things were already heated as it was, it was hard to imagine it escalating but something told her that somehow Ethan would find a way. She chuckled to herself as Ethan’s hand explored her, another whimper of pleasure breaking from her lips as his hand disappeared between her thighs. Her back arched, absentmindedly pushing her chest toward him—not that it mattered much anyway, Ava wa certain Ethan didn’t mind. She let her hand trail his biceps, going over every bump of toned muscle, her fingers tickling his skin gently. Her legs tensed around him, craving more of the desirable friction.

As Ethan unhooked the last remaining fabric on her body, Ava fiddled her arms through the straps, letting her bra fall from her body carelessly and onto the floor. She kept her arms behind her for a moment, leaning back to give him a good few; a devilish grin across her lips. She straightened up her back, placing a hand on the back of his neck and pulling him forward, on top of her. “Don’t tell me you’re tired already,” She teased with a cock of her brows.

Switched to my iPod, I don’t know if read more’s work on this :/

Switched to my iPod, I don’t know if read more’s work on this :/

Ava & Ethan ● Nice To Meet You

ethan-piers:

Ava bit down hard on her bottom lip, a smile finding its way across her features. Her panting became heavier, a loud moan breaking from her helplessly as he slowly pulled out and reentered her. She hooked her leg tightly around him, her thighs giving a clear view before she decided to bring them closer together; narrowing the path between them, the pressure intensifying. She kept her arm tightly around his neck, bringing their foreheads together as her small frame bounced with each thrust he made into her. “Harder,” She begged in a whine. Ava could feel his hot breath against her skin which somehow turned her on more. She sunk her lower half hard onto his quivering member, grinning at him as she did so before tossing her head back in pleasure. Fuck, he was good. “Fuck!” She groaned, the heat quickly rising in her body. Ava circulated her hips ‘causing the feeling of his length inside her to nearly send her straight to her peak, but she witheld. Her walls were tightening around viciously and Ava could hardly fight the sounds that broke from her throat. This was what she was waiting for and it felt fucking amazing. Raising her face to his once more, their lips crashed together, Ava practically bruising his, then nipping at his bottom one and tugging playfully.

Steve & Ava ● Hello, Stranger.

steve—robinson:

ava-macpherson:

Ava squeaked as Steve picked her up, not fully registering what he had said until a few seconds later. She hung on to his shoulders tightly, afraid she might fall. Ava enjoyed the rush of bouncing up and down as Steve carried her off until they reached the living room and once she was put on the couch, she pressed her lips together. “Thanks for the ride,” She chuckled, leaning back into the cushion for a second. She let out a sigh, feeling content with her state. The situation with Anya was the farthest thing from Ava’s mind right now, which was good for her. She didn’t like to worry and tomorrow she’d have a clear mind of what to do about everything, and even if she couldn’t do it on her own, she knew she could count on Steve’s advice for help.

Ava trailed her fingers along the armrest of the couch, watching them go over the seams in the fabric before tapping them lightly. “Hey,” She began, turning back to face Steve. “Dance with me.” She smiled slightly. Ava wasn’t normally one more dancing unless she was out partying but those days were clearly behind her now, not that she had a choice. Being intoxicated was the perfect excuse to put her mind in that setting again, just to let go of everything she knew for a little while and move her body without really thinking. Ava stood up, taking Steve’s hand in hers, barely giving him time to object. She attempted to pull him from the couch, trying her best to do so and lead him into the middle of the room.

Steve grinned and nodded. “No problem.” He told her. He sighed, feeling pretty content—really, actually just great. He hadn’t felt like that in a very long time. It was kind of euphoric. That’s a really good thing. Maybe it was just the combination of the drinking and befriending Ava. Everything so far was just literally going so much better than he expected as of late. Steve was lost in his thoughts about it all when Ava spoke. He looked over at her and smiled. Dancing. That’d be a really nice thing, and he’d catch her in case she slipped again. Steve was about to say ‘alright’ but she already brought him up, taking him to the middle of the room.

He placed one hand on her waist and his other hand held Ava’s free hand. Steve sighed. “Should… one of us start singing or humming… or do we just slow dance in general? Or do you wanna jump up and down? I can do that too.” He was actually really excited about dancing now. Where were the Squatters, now that he thought of it? He kind of wished they weren’t homeless and were living here so that he could snatch whatever music they had. That’s what he’d been doing for the past 12 years anyway to keep his music taste up-to-date. “I personally like both, but jumping up and down might make you queasy and tired.” Even as he talked, though, he had been leading Ava into a casual slow dance anyway. It was fun.

Steve & Ava ● Hello, Stranger.

steve—robinson:

ava-macpherson:

Ava’s brows cocked when he called her beautiful. He was good. She bit the corner of her lip, still holding the thought in her head and right when she landed in his arms. She could make some poor joke by saying he was quite a catch or something but that wasn’t in her style. She wasn’t one for corny things. She smiled up at him, another compliment coming to mind. “I’m fine, thank you.” She nodded, her arm gripping his shoulder for support. “You have good reflexes.” She said in approval, her eyes falling to his biceps then back at him. Ava liked a challenge, even one so silly as this. She used her other hand to push his hair back playfully.

Thankfully she had stored the bottles away securely before her clumsiness had taken over her. The alcohol was clearly taking its toll on her but thanks to Steve, they had stopped drinking and she couldn’t get any worse. The house rang silent for a moment and suddenly Ava wondered where everyone else had went—squatters included. It didn’t matter much anyhow. She shrugged off the thought and lowered her leg, planting her foot on the floor for a sturdy balance. Ava was fine, not a bruise nor a scrape. It took a lot more than that to bring her down anyway. “You,” She began with a finger pointed directly at him, “Are a good guy, Steve.” Pointing out the obvious, Ava poked his nose playfully before chuckling. He was nice, very sweet and sincere and without a doubt good looking. They could be friends, in fact isn’t that what they were doing right there? Building some kind of friendship or whatever. She chose her friends carefully but Ava had a feeling Steve fit into the category without a doubt. Leaning up, she brought her lips to his ear, “Meow.” She whispered before giggling like a little girl. This wasn’t in Ava’s character at all, and most of the time her intoxication didn’t include meowing or falling off counters. Maybe it was the boredom in her from being stuck and dead that had her all fucking giddy and weird. One thing she did like to do though was move around.

Steve took in Ava’s full features—her hair, her eyes, her nose, her lips, her skin. It just made him smile. He’d met a lot of girls so far, and honestly, he’d taken a rather big liking to Ava. She was very kind and caring for her sister, and she didn’t seem bad at all in other senses. You don’t get people like that nowadays. He was happy—maybe they could become really good friends. “Well, at least you’re okay.” He said to her, feeling relieved. He smiled. “Alright, I’ll have to think of another compliment. Give me a bit.” he said to her with a smile, letting her get up on her feet, and standing up himself.

He raised an eyebrow at Ava when she addressed him once again. Steve thought she was gunna say something bad but… nope. Something he kind of already knew. He still had some sense in his head, but he was wondering if Ava was alright. Maybe alcohol affected her a bit quicker—or, what was she drinking? Vodka? And he was drinking rum. Maybe that was why. Either way, she was definitely a bit off, but still, Steve smiled and said, “Thank you.” A chill ran down his body when Ava whispered in his ear—just because, and just a pretty dumb word, too. Maybe it was just because she’d whispered. Still, that really confirmed her state. Steve softly laughed and nodded. “Well, meow to you, too.” He told her kindly. “You need rest.” Steve worried if she could walk to the living room, so he acted quickly and picked her up with both hands. “Don’t object, you’re talking like a cat. Just go with it.” He said to her in a friendly way as he carried Ava to the living room couch and sat her down. “Well that was fun.”

Ava squeaked as Steve picked her up, not fully registering what he had said until a few seconds later. She hung on to his shoulders tightly, afraid she might fall.
